Barton Hall Videographer - Jonny and Grace

Updated: Jan 30

Jonny and Grace’s Barton Hall wedding was one of those days that just felt easy. No rushing, no overthinking, just a really good group of people, a lovely setting and a couple who were clearly having a great time from start to finish.

Barton Hall is always a great choice for a wedding, but in April it really comes into its own, which is something I see time and again as a Barton Hall videographer. The light is softer, the grounds are just starting to wake up, and everything feels fresh without trying too hard. It suited Jonny and Grace perfectly.

Grace got ready at the venue, which instantly set a calm tone for the day. No mad dashing around, just chatting, laughing and letting the morning unfold.

Their ceremony was simple and genuine, the kind where you’re not clock-watching or waiting for the next bit to happen. Just two people fully present in the moment, with Barton Hall quietly doing its thing in the background.

I worked alongside Aaron Collett Photography and the day flowed really naturally. When everyone’s on the same page and not trying to force moments, couples get to just enjoy their wedding, which always makes for better photos and a better film.

Just when everyone thought they’d got the measure of the day, the singing waiters appeared. Cue raised eyebrows, laughter, and a room that very quickly came alive. And then, because why not, Grace decided to have her hair cut. During the reception. No big announcement. No drama. Just Grace doing Grace. It was brilliant. Completely unexpected, totally her, and one of those moments that had everyone talking. The reactions alone were worth it.

My Top Moments as a Barton Hall Videographer

The Light in The Orangery

Barton Hall always films well, but the spring light that day was spot on. Soft, flattering, and perfect for letting moments play out naturally without feeling staged.

The Singing Waiters

Unexpected in the best way. Those moments of surprise, the laughs, the looks between guests, are always gold on film.

The Haircut

One of the most memorable moments of the day. Not because it was planned or performative, but because it was real, joyful, and very Grace :)
